The Death Chamber Veil and Archway for MISTI-Con by Thom-Heap The Death Chamber Veil and Archway for MISTI-Con by Thom-Heap
This a full scale sculpture that I created for MISTI-Con 2013, a Harry Potter convention based on the idea of a new Ministry of Magic. Each conference room was decorated to look like a different room from the Department of Mysteries. The Archway was created for the Death Chamber based on the scenes in the Harry Potter books and the films. The archway was installed in the Margate Resort in Laconia NH for the convention. It was created using wood, wire, paper machie, foam and other materials.

For more information about the convention itself, please visit [link].

Oddly and actually, I like your constructed archway better than the one they used in the movies. My head-cannon was something that looked old and like an actual archway; I suppose, because in the movies they didn't have the pre-scene where Harry is lurking near it, they didn't spend as much time as they could have on the arch itself.
So, way to go on THAT. I hear the voices, how 'bout you? Heheh.

Thank you! I was going more on what I envisioned in the book rather than the movie version. A lot of what we tried to do with MISTI-Con was really about making the stories our own, especially now that the series has ended. It is our head cannons, OCs and art work that will carry this fandom now!

I'm sure the whole con is pretty much a whirl of colors and memories for you, but I was the one who flipped your "cape"...well, more like a deflated hot air balloon-Voldy in the hallway as you ran banshee-like up and down ;-)
I'm so glad you did go with YOUR vision. It made my first con a memorable experience.
(I'm just now looking at all the Flickr pics of the bubble wrapped pieces. Bloody hell.)
