As part of the 100-year commemorations of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, the student's of FIT's Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design department were asked to create an exhibit that honored the victims of the fire, and informed visitors about the working conditions which lead to the tragedy.

The class was split into groups which each focused on a different aspect of the event. The group that I was a part of was dedicated to the fire itself. We set out to create a visual representation of the tragedy in which onlookers watched as trapped victims were forced to jump from the windows to escape the inferno.

My role in the group was to help develop the concept through the creation sketches and models. Being the most proficient with power tools, I aided a great deal in the construction of our project. I was also responsible for the creation of the silhouettes used to represent the young female victims.
